VITAMIN E
alpha-TOCOPHEROL ACETATE
Vitamin E acetate (alpha-tocopherol acetate) is used in agriculture, medical, pharmaceutical and food industries, cosmetics.
In medical practice it is used for treatment
of cardio-vascular disturbances, in gynecology
to prevent the treat of miscarriage,
for muscular dystrophy, skin diseases.
Vitamin E has ant oxidative effect and is used
for food products vitaminization. In animal
husbandry it is used as an
addition to rations for feeding of domestic
animals and poultry.
For the prophylactic purposes vitamin E is added to fodder (g per ton of fodder): chickens till 90 days — 10, 91 to 180 days — 5, adult
animals — 10, gees and ducks
— 5, turkey-hens — 20.
The medical-prophylactic doses are
(mg): for the cattle 300-1000, pigs
— 100-300, sucking pigs till
4 months — 15-50, piglets — 50-100, calves — 50-100, sheep — 50-60, lambs-, sabers and
minks — 5-10, dogs
—15-40.
The application of vitamin E
prevents the loss of cattle and
birds, prevents the disorders of genitals,
rises the egg-laying and hatching. Vitamin
E is effective in the case of
alimentary encephalomolation of
chickens, turkey-poults, goslings and ducklings, it is effective for the stress.
The
quality of vitamin E produced in Yerevan is very high.
The Pharmaceutical Committee of USSR had given the pharmaceutical status and
permission to use vitamin E in medical treatment.
Appearance - vitamin E is a viscous oily light yellow liquid, without odor or
with light odor. This liquid becomes brown exposure to sunlight and in
contact with oxygen.
Solubility - vitamin E does not dissolve in water, dissolves in 95 % alcohol,
and dissolves very well in ether and vegetal oil.
Specific index - 42-47, absorption - 7-15.
Refraction index - 1,4950 - 1,4985.
Tocopherol - < 4,0 %.
Tocopherol acetate - 97,0 - 102,0 %.
Packing - aluminum and plastic barrel cask and can of 5, 10, 20, 30, 38 and
50 kg.
